Cases of dog poisoning reported to the Monitor Net control center is on the increase in the Centurion Area. This cruel method to eliminate the guardians of your property, results in house breakings, armed robberies and even more violent crimes.
It is suspected that the poison involved is Temik (also known as Aldikarb or “two-step”). The poison is used in the agricultural industry by farmers that purchase the poison from accredited dealers. Unfortunately farm workers steal small amounts of the substance, to sell it on the black-market as rat poison.
It is marketed as “Two-Step”, a deadly poison that if consumed by a rat, only allows the rat another two steps before it dies!
Criminals place the substance (Granules almost gum-powder like) on meat and feed it to the dog. Meat with a strong essence, such as smoked meat, Russians,Vienna’s and polony is preferred, because of the fact that the dog mostly immediately consumes the bait. The dog instantly dies, and leaves the premises unprotected.
Domestic workers have proved to be the best informants, and they must be sensitized around the product as well as the misuse of it.
Temik on Polony and of course, the Russian! (The most commonly used)
Should you suspect your dogs to be poisoned, get them to vomit. Mix washing powder with water into a paste and force it down the dog’s throat. Rush to a veterinarian doctor as the animal needs specialist care immediately.
PLEASE inform the Monitor Net control centre, so that we can be aware of these incidents and at the same time concentrate in the “hot-spot” areas.
PLEASE REPORT THE SELLING OF TEMIK AND ASSIST US IN TRACKING DOWN THE SUSPECTS.
